SEN Symposium 2019: Call for Contributions
Dear VERSEN members and friends,
as you have certainly already marked in your calendars, the next annual Software Engineering Nederland (SEN) symposium will take place on Friday, February 1st, 2019 at CWI in Amsterdam. The symposium is organized by VERSEN, the Dutch National Association for Software Engineering (https://www.versen.nl/). The program will feature a keynote talk (by Roberto Di Cosmo from the Software Heritage initiative), invited presentations by four NL-based software engineering researchers (Davy Landman, Annibale Panichella, Alexander Serebrenik and Gabriele Keller), research pitches and posters submitted to our open call for contributions, and plenty of time for discussions and networking.
CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS
The SEN symposium invites all software engineering researchers in the Netherlands to contribute to the program. Contributions can be in the form of a poster and/or an “elevator pitch” presentation. Admission will be based on the evaluation of one-page abstracts describing the contribution.
The SEN Symposium offers researchers the opportunity to give a short presentation of their work as an elevator pitch. The name “elevator pitch” reflects the idea that it should be possible to deliver a summary of your work in the time span of an elevator ride, or approximately thirty seconds to five minutes. We aim to accept high quality short pitches by both junior researchers (PhD students and postdocs; 3-6 minutes) and senior researchers (>postdoc; 5-8 minutes).
Instead of or in addition to pitch presentations, researchers can present their work on posters that will be on display during the whole day.
Please submit your pitch/poster proposal in one page (500 words max) in PDF format. Proposals must include topic, novelty, and presenter information (name, affiliation, short CV or link to webpage with the information, name of supervisor for PhD students). Please submit your proposals to SENSym2019 on easyChair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=sensym2019).
Submission Deadline: January 11, 2019, midnight CET
Notification: January 14, 2019
Registration for the symposium is free of charge and will be open soon. Please visit http://www.sen-symposium.nl/ for further information.
We look forward to seeing you at the SEN symposium!
